Could you tell me a bit more about the Sectional Titles Act and infringement on an owner’s use and enjoyment of one’s property?
I am currently renting out my townhouse to a group of young professionals. I was contacted by the managing agent and was given a stern warning because my tenants threw a party last Saturday with the music going on until just before midnight and quoting on the Sectional Titles Act.
I am on fairly good terms with my neighbours and can’t understand why they would not say anything directly to me or my tenants.
My daughter who previously lived in the townhouse also had the odd party without any complaints being received but then again she did notify the neighbours in advance, but at the end of the day, although many of the surrounding tenants are older, the complex is not a “retirement village”.
