A family member offered me a flat for free during a tough financial period I was going through, and due to the distance between this flat and my work I accepted.
But a month later they charged me for rent, and a year later the rent was increased by another 20 per cent. The following year it was increased with 30 per cent.
The monthly rent is now 60 per cent of my salary, and even though my rent is up to date I was given 30 days’ notice to move out.
I do not have the money to move and my wife and two children are now being treated poorly. Please advise what I can do in this situation and what recourse I should follow?
