I am renting, but there is currently no written lease in place.
I have paid our rent each month as well as the full deposit when we moved in.
One month I encountered unforeseen problems and could not pay the rent on time. I spoke to the owner and he gave me an extension, saying he would lock me out if I hadn’t paid by the agreed date.
I signed an initial three-month contract which expired last month. The owner said it wasn’t necessary to sign a new contract.
