I’m looking to invest in a property which will serve as accommodation for my three children when they enter university.
All three children should stay in the same city throughout their studies and I’d like to secure accommodation for them during this period and beyond, if need be.
I am fortunate enough to purchase a property for them, but I’m concerned about splitting the ownership three ways because of the potential for arguments. I therefore don’t think co-ownership is ideal.
I don’t want to retain ownership of the property but, because of my estate planning and other personal circumstances, I’d rather pass the property to my children before I die.
Should I consider the use of a trust?
