The transfer on a house I recently purchased was due to take place over three months ago.
Although the conveyancer told me that I had to pay occupational rental, I was not informed of any delays or requests for an extension of the transfer.
Neither the option of taking early occupation in anticipation of the transfer nor discretion to refuse payment of occupational rental were presented to me – payment was simply demanded.
How long I am legally obligated to continue paying the occupational rental?
I have already told the conveyancer that any future payments will only be for the bond and not for rental.
