Freehold property

15 December 2016 by YourProperty

Freehold property is where the dwelling is held, together with the land it is situated upon, under a single erf and registered as such but where such property may still be subject to, for example, an HOA (so-called cluster homes, complexes, gated communities and the like) and the rules of such association – but excludes sectional title.  Contrast with full title property where one owns a property with no restrictions other than those restrictions imposed in the title deed typically in favour of the local authority.
