This is a usufruct-related issue. My sister has invited my mother to stay with her, because my mother was very alone in the small town where she lived in a house that she owned and she did not see her children a lot.
My sister then offered to build a cottage for my mom on her property. Out of the goodness of her heart my mother then registered the house in my sister’s name with her as the usufruct holder.
The cottage was never build and after a lot of fighting between my mother and sister for all kinds of different reasons, I took my mother away from my sister and told her to come stay near me in a flat that she can rent.
As a family, all the children asked my sister to give the house back to my mother because at this stage my mother was very sorry for what she did and she wanted all her children to have a share in the house once she passed away.
My sister refuses to do so and she has divorced in the meantime. We would like to know if there is anything that can be done so that the usufruct can be cancelled and that the house can belong to my mother again.
Kind regards,
Upset Sister
